Chelsea legend Frank Lampard believes Paul Pogba has everything he needs to rise to the top at Manchester United.
Though Pogba has shown signs of brilliance since his arrival at Old Trafford, the midfielder has struggled with consistency so far.
The 23-year-old has been heavily criticised for his actions on and off the pitch after becoming the world’s most expensive player.
Speaking about Pogba’s rise to the top, Lampard claims it will all take time.
“It’s been a slow start for Pogba,” he said.
“The difficult thing is everyone looks at the price tag and everything which goes with it. Then you go back to basics and look at what kind of player he is.
“He isn’t a Lionel Messi — a dribbler or a 40- goals-a-season man. He’s someone who can be the engine room of the team.
“Good players rise to the top and he has to just find himself at United.
“He has the capacity to do it, it’s up to him now.”
Jose Mourinho has shown a lot faith in the Frenchman by starting him in every league game so far.
Despite not having reached top form, the 23-year-old has been improving with every game and his two goals against Fenerbahce will be a big confidence boost moving forward.
Man United play Chelsea this Sunday, a highly-anticipated game as Mourinho visits Stamford Bridge as United boss and Pogba will want to dominate the game as the two footballing giants face off against each other.
