Man United XI vs Spurs: Henderson, Williams, Tuanzebe, Poole, Riley, Goss, Redmond, Olosunde, Harrop, El Fitouri, Willock.

Subs: O’Hara, Scott, Warren, Kehinde, Mitchell.

Sean Goss is making his first appearance for Manchester United since December 2015 having been sidelined with a serious back injury since then.

Goss was part of Man United’s tour squad under Louis van Gaal and made his debut for the club then but has had to contend with a very tough year of rehabilitation. Thankfully he’s been able to complete it and is itching to play today against Tottenham Hotspur’s reserves.

Speaking about his injury, Goss said: “When last season started I was as happy as I could be with where my football was at. I’d been involved in the first team and progressing well, but you never know what’s round the corner and it’s been a tough year.

“I had a lengthy rehab period where I had to rest, before gradually introducing running and gym work.

“It was a slow build-up to getting back to training and, annoyingly, I had a niggling problem that set me back even further and was very frustrating. You’ve just got to look to the future and concentrate on emerging as a stronger person.”

Today’s game against Spurs is live on MUTV. Kick-off is at 12pm.
