Manchester United fans were delighted with Juan Mata‘s performance against Burnley on Saturday evening.
The Spaniard led Jose Mourinho’s side out and he has been rewarded for his spectacular performances in recent times.
He was once again, dictating the game and linking up some beautiful play with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, although the big Swede wasn’t able to finish his chances.
Here’s what supporters had to say about his performance on social media.
Juan Mata, playing in the centre today, is having a great game so far. Captain's armband suits him.

I’m a BIG fan of Mata as captain. He’s shown time and time again that he’s the best kind of human being.

Mata behind Rashford has to be the way forward. Ibra has been woeful since early September. Slow, can't finish and not holding the ball up

Mata really living up to the armband, best player on the pitch in the first half

Mata was orchestrating the game in the No.10 role and has put in a solid argument for earning himself the captain’s armband once again, with Wayne Rooney benched and Chris Smalling currently sidelined with an injury.
His stats throughout the game were completely incredible and after reports suggested Mata would be leaving the club following Mourinho’s arrival, it’s brilliant for supporters to see him proving his importance once again.
He’s been one of Mourinho’s most important players so far this season and while the players have been inconsistent with their performances, one thing has remained a constant, which is Mata’s spectacular showings.
