Jesse Lingard in talks to sign new contract with Manchester United and Adidas

Jesse Lingard is in talks to sign a new contract with Manchester United and Adidas, according to reports.

He has enjoyed an impressive start under Jose Mourinho and was also handed his first senior England caps in the World Cup qualification fixtures against Malta and Slovenia last month under Gareth Southgate.

Daily Mail claim he is set to pen a new four-year contract at Old Trafford, which would see him double his current £30,000-per-week wage.

The Englishman has 18 months left on his existing deal, but Man United are allegedly keen on tying him down early to prevent him from entering the final year of his contract.

Whether it’s his FA Cup final winner over Crystal Palace in May or his spectacular goal against Leicester City in the Community Shield, Lingard has proven he can be relied upon.

He’s worked hard to cement his place into Mourinho’s starting XI and the Portuguese boss has taken a liken to his hard-working attitude.

Lingard will continue his rise at Old Trafford, and at 23, there is still plenty of time for him to develop his game and his dabbing skills.
