Jose Mourinho insists he doesn’t remember Phil Jones‘ last good run of matches for Manchester United.
The Englishman recently returned to training with the first-team 10 months after his last competitive appearance.
He was included in Mourinho’s squad travelling to Fenerbahce for Thursday night’s Europa League clash in Istanbul.
Speaking in his press conference, Mourinho claims he has had a difficult relationship with injuries.
“He’s having a difficult relationship with the injuries.
“But he worked hard to recover – he’s training with the team for more than a week now.
“We are in a difficult situation because we lost three defenders in a week.”
He’s had a tough time with injuries at Old Trafford, but with our current injuries on the squad, Jones has the chance to save his career.
Jones hasn’t been able to make his mark on the side since his arrival and has, as Mourinho claims, had a very difficult relationship with injuries.
Despite being backed by Sir Alex Ferguson to become a United great, he hasn’t lived upto expectations and will now need to fight his way into the starting XI.
