Jose Mourinho has confirmed why Luke Shaw, Daley Blind and Chris Smalling did not play for Manchester United against Swansea City on Sunday afternoon.

The Portuguese boss confirmed Luke Shaw was not in condition to play, while Chris Smalling did not feel like he could perform at a high level and Daley Blind is currently out with some issues, although he made himself available to be on the bench to try and help the team.

Eric Bailly’s long-term injury and Antonio Valencia‘s recovery after surgery have ruled out two of our best performers so far this season and it’s extremely unlucky that they’ve both been sidelined at the same time.

Speaking about his side before the game, Mourinho revealed why the Man United trio would not feature at Liberty Stadium.

United have bounced back with an impressive victory over Swansea after hitting a rough patch in recent times, which has seen them struggle in the Europa League and Premier League.

The pressure continued to mount on Mourinho’s men and they now need to build some consistency moving forward, but it’ll be difficult with a number of injuries impacting indispensable members of his first-team squad.
