Jesse Lingard believes Manchester United are strong enough to win the Premier League this season under Jose Mourinho.
The Englishman has worked himself into the first-team this season under Jose Mourinho after proving he can perform in some of our biggest games of the campaign.
He also believes new summer signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have all raised the level of quality at the club.
“The players that have come in can help a lot,” he said. “We’re still getting to know each other better, to learn off each other week in, week out.
“But with the four signings we’ve made, I think we have a strong enough squad to win the league this season.
“Pogba’s a joker in the changing room, always dancing and trying to make you laugh.
“We have a good bunch of lads, with good team spirit, and I think that can take us to the top this season.”
After an unsettled start to the season, United are now in sixth position and eight points off league leaders Liverpool.
However, the players feel confident that they can win their first Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
There is still plenty of time left to the campaign and although we’ve suffered a shaky start to the season, there is no reason to believe that we can’t still close the gap.
