Ryan Giggs claims Juan Mata‘s presence makes him a vital player in Jose Mourinho’s dressing room at Manchester United.
The Welshman worked with Mata during his time on the coaching staff under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal following his switch from from Chelsea in January 2014.
Mata was heavily linked with an Old Trafford exit over the summer when Mourinho took charge, but has been one of our standout performers and has cemented his place in the starting XI.
Speaking about the Spaniard, Giggs claims he’s a brilliant character to have in the team.
“Look, he’s a good player,” he said.
“He creates goals, scores goals, brilliant professional and a brilliant character to have in the team.”
Mata has been one of our best performers under Mourinho so far this season and even lead the side out as captain against Burnley in the Premier League.
Although he was linked with a summer move, Mata has worked hard and hasn’t let the media get to him, proving he still has a vital role to play in Mourinho’s side.
He was in top form before the international break and hopes are he can pick up where he left off as Arsenal visit Old Trafford on November 19.
