Manchester United fans were full of praise for Juan Mata after the Spaniard delivered an excellent performance during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old, deployed on the right hand side, struck up an excellent partnership with Antonio Valencia, ghosting inside to link up with teammates as the Ecuadorian bombarded Nacho Monreal all afternoon.
His brilliantly taken goal on 68 minutes crowned what should have been a match-winning performance from the midfielder.
Man United fans, despite their disappointment at conceding a late equaliser, were quick highlight Mata’s brilliance.
Juan Mata has paid back every penny United paid for him. Consistently scores and assists, his record at United has been superb.

Mata was sold at Chelsea for his work rate, but he's been all over the pitch this season. Same as Herrera. Telepathic Spanish duo.

Today’s result stings. Really stings. To play that well and go ahead in a game Mourinho’s men simply had to win, only to concede from Arsenal’s first (and last) shot of the game – just excruciating.
That said, while the result may be galling, the broader picture under Jose Mourinho looks far more promising after today’s game. The Portuguese, after months of chopping and changing, appears to understand his best team, and Mata lives at its core.
A midfield trio of Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Michael Carrick, complimented by Mata’s ability to ghost inside from the right, has provided a platform from which this side can dominate games. United fans will hope to see this formula continue to blossom as the season goes on.
