Paul Scholes has urged Jose Mourinho to sign Antoine Griezmann at Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman has already been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford with reports claiming he currently sits at the top of Mourinho’s transfer list.
Griezmann has previously stated his desire to play alongside Paul Pogba at club level after the pair cooked up a blossoming friendship.
Speaking about an ideal acquisition for Man United, Scholes claims Griezmann would be at the top of the list.
“Will they bring another centre forward in?” he asked.
“Wayne’s obviously there to challenge. Is Martial a centre forward? There’s four already.
“I think Griezmann would be up there, I think he looks great.”
A move for Griezmann could be on the cards as United are certainly in a position to bring him to Manchester, but it all depends on whether Diego Simeone will end up leaving Atletico Madrid
He has flourished under Simeone and it would be incredible to have him at Old Trafford, but there’s no doubt that United would need to fork out a massive fee as Europe’s top club’s would be fighting for his services.
One thing we’ve learnt from Mourinho’s first transfer window as Man United boss is that he gets what he wants, and if he sets his sights on the Frenchman, there’s a good chance we’ll see him in a red shirt.
