Bastian Schweinsteiger set to make his Manchester United return against West Ham – report

Bastian Schweinsteiger could be set to make his return for Manchester United against West Ham on Sunday, according to SportBild.

He has been frozen out of the Man United squad since Jose Mourinho took over from Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford in May.

The German was forced to train with the Man United U23s and refused a summer move away from Man United, claiming it’d be the last club he played for in Europe.

SportBild claims Mourinho may of had a change of heart as Schweinsteiger is now tipped to be in the Man United squad for the game against the Hammers on Sunday.

It’s the closest he’s been to the first-team for a while and he’ll undoubtedly be pleased to have any role on the side after the time he’s had.

While it’s possible to believe that Mourinho has found a place for Bastian, it could just be a simple ploy to show he’s picking up game time before the January transfer market opens up.

Hopes are if Bastian features on Sunday, he proves that he still has it in the locker and persuades the Portuguese boss to utilise his services at Old Trafford.
