Manchester United 1-1 West Ham: Player Ratings

by Sam Peoples

David de Gea 6 – For me De Gea hasn’t quite been himself this season. Nothing major or catastrophic but he isn’t hitting the standards he set over the last four years.

Matteo Darmian 5 – Somebody teach Darmian how to cross, please. Antonio was making him wobble quite a lot in the second half.

Phil Jones 7  – Longest run of games since 2013 for Jones now. You can see his confidence is growing too. Much needed in Eric Bailly’s absence

Marcos Rojo– Great tackle on Antonio in the first-half which really stands out in the memory.

Antonio Valencia 6.5 – He’s immeasurably improved under Mourinho at right-back but still lacks that final pass, cross or dribble for me.

Ander Herrera 6 – Felt Herrera dictate as much as he has this season. Wanted more from him.

Paul Pogba 6.5 – Kept dropping deep to instigate and crafted the equaliser with a wonderful pass to Zlatan. Finally, an assist he has deserved for some time.

Juan Mata Not as influential as previous games. Understood him being taken off.

Jesse Lingard 6 – Awful to give away a cheap free-kick like that at the start. Improved in second but settled into a lacklustre attacking style.

Marcus Rashford 5.5 – Such a big chance to give United the lead with that one-on-one but Randolph saved. Still, felt he played better than recent games.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic 6 – At fault for West Ham’s goal at the start but made up for it with his equaliser. Had other chances though.

Substitutes

Henrikh Mkhitaryan 6 – Had a few minutes to forget when he came on didn’t he? Can’t knock him for trying. Definitely added some pace to our attack for sure.

Wayne Rooney 6 – Think he should have started after that Feyenoord performance. Made a difference out on the left with some excellent balls in the box.

Marouane Fellaini 5 – Used in the right way today – for the last ten minutes when you are chasing a game.
