Antoine Griezmann has fuelled speculation of a possible move to Manchester United after admitting he’d prefer a move to the Premier League if he ever left the Vicente Calderon.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford after a number of incidents where he claimed he’d love to play alongside Paul Pogba at club level, said that he admired Man United as they were a huge club or even when he revealed his idol was David Beckham.
The Frenchman is said to be at the top of Jose Mourinho’s transfer list and having scored 22 La Liga goals in each of his last two seasons, will undoubtedly attract interest from Europe’s top clubs.
Speaking about a potential transfer, he completely ruled out Paris Saint-Germain as the Ligue 1 is not an interest to him.
“I cannot go to Real — there is a pact between the two clubs that prohibits a transfer. At Barca, there is no pact but their front three are indispensable,” he said.
“PSG? It is an interesting possibility but Ligue 1 does not interest me for now. I would prefer to stay in La Liga or go to the Premier League.”
He could be happy to make a move to Old Trafford, but a potential transfer would depend on if Diego Simeone left Atletico Madrid.
His stock has seriously risen under Simeone and should he decide to stay, a move for Griezmann would be near impossible.
It would be brilliant to have him alongside Pogba at United, especially after he impressed at Euro 2016, but it remains to be seen whether we’ll see him in a United shirt.
