Massive injury boost as Eric Bailly returns to training with Manchester United

Eric Bailly has returned to training with Manchester United after being left out for five weeks with a knee ligament injury, according to reports.

He has been back with the rest of the first-team this week and Jose Mourinho earlier claimed he would be back before the end of the year.

Following his injury during the 4-0 defeat against Chelsea in October, he was expected to be out until close to the new year, but his return to training suggests he could be back before Christmas.

Man United have three games leading up to the Christmas break against Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace and West Brom – and will need to get the campaign back on the right track.

It’s been a big blow to have him away from the side and we’ll miss him in January once again as he’ll be joining up with the Ivory Coast team for the African Nations Cup in Gabon.

Bailly had been one of our best performers under Mourinho before he got injured and although Phil Jones has done well to come into the side after 10 months on the sidelines, the Ivorian will slot back into his role as soon as he’s ready.
