David de Gea 6 – Made a couple of good saves in the second half but couldn’t stop Baines’ late penalty.
Matteo Darmian 6 – A relatively solid display from the Italian, providing strong defensive cover and rarely moving past the halfway line. Dealt with the potentially dangerous Yannick Bolasie very well.
Phil Jones 6 – Looked flustered against Romelu Lukaku early on but grew in stature along with the rest of Jose Mourinho’s men.
Marcos Rojo 5 – Should have received a straight red in the first half. Never looked comfortable up against Lukaku and found himself in awkward positions too often.
Antonio Valencia 7 – Worked tirelessly down the right hand side all game, pinning back Leighton Baines with a series of powerful runs.
Michael Carrick 7 – Lacked his usual accuracy and precision early on but quickly adopted his characteristically calm, composed demeanour as the game went on.
Paul Pogba 7 – Magnificent on the ball all afternoon, somehow always finding the right pass. Displayed some important steel as Everton pressed late on.
Ander Herrera 7 – Never gave Everton’s midfield a moment’s peace. Convincingly won the battle with Gareth Barry in the centre of the park.
Anthony Martial 6 – Produced a number of clever touches, linking up well with Ibrahimovic on a regular basis. A tidy performance, but one that lacked fireworks.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan 8 – Another sumptuous performance from the Armenian. Displayed wonderful deftness both on and off the ball.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic 7 – A truly professional performance from the Swede. Held up the ball well, bought fouls, and took his only real chance of the game. 12 goals this season and counting.
Marcus Rashford N/A
Marouane Fellaini 3- Did nothing except from gift Everton a penalty. Simply woeful.
