Roma set to take Manchester United’s Memphis Depay on loan in January- report

Manchester United have received a loan offer with the option to buy from Roma for Memphis Depay, according to reports.

The Serie A side are open to signing him on a temporary deal until the end of the season but will allegedly have the option to make it a permanent move.

Their search for a new attacker has led to interest in Memphis intensifying as he currently sits at the top of Roma’s transfer list.

He was signed from PSV Eindhoven for £25 million in June 2015, but has failed to make his mark on the side at Old Trafford.

After confirming he’d like to stay in the Premier League, a move to Everton would seem more likely as Ronald Koeman has already revealed his interest in the Dutchman’s services.

Memphis has struggled for game-time under Jose Mourinho this season, playing just 24 minutes of Premier League football so far.

He’s one of a number of players who could leave in January, but his move should be nothing more than just a loan.

Memphis has showcased his talent but just needs minutes under his belt to find his feet in the starting XI, at 22, he’ll only improve and if United let him go so early, they could suffer another Paul Pogba situation.
