Michael Owen believes Henrikh Mkhitaryan has done enough to cement himself in the starting XI at Manchester United.
The Armenian had struggled to break into the squad under Jose Mourinho earlier in the season, but has been one of our best performers since his return in recent weeks.
He picked up another Man of the Match award for his showing against Zorya Luhansk as he opened the scoring and picked up his first goal for the club with a spectacular solo goal.
Speaking after the game, Owen was full of praise for Mkhitaryan.
“If I was picking my team, of course you go Ibrahimovic up top,” he said.
“But the three men in behind, whether it’s left, right or central, I think he (Mkhitaryan) goes in as my first choice.”
Mkihitaryan has done brilliantly since his return to the first-team and he has to start once Tottenham Hotspur come to Old Trafford in the Premier League next weekend.
After struggling with his confidence since his summer move to Borussia Dortmund, he’s worked hard to fight for his place in the side and undoubtedly deserves all the success that comes his way.
