Jamie Carragher believes Jose Mourinho deserves credit for Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s form at Manchester United.
The Armenian struggled to break into the first-team following his summer move from Borussia Dortmund and the Portuguese boss was heavily criticised by supporters over his exclusion from the matchday squads.
However, since his return to action for Man United, he has scored two goals and registered two assists in four games, showcasing his talent in England’s top flight.
Speaking at half-time on Sky Sports, Carragher claimed Mourinho has handled his situation very well.
“Jose Mourinho has handled Henrikh Mkhitaryan very well even though fans were frustrated when he was left out earlier on,” he said.
“He was awful in his first game, and now in his last four games he has two goals and two assists, he’s a new player getting used to the Premier League and the form that he’s currently in, Mourinho deserves some credit for how he’s handled him.”
He didn’t perform well against Manchester City earlier in the season and he seems like a new player since his return to action with the first-team.
Mourinho has made the right decision with his management of Mkhitaryan and I can’t wait to see how his future at Old Trafford plans out.
After being stretchered out against Tottenham, hopes are he’s able to keep himself fit ahead of a busy Christmas period.
