Jose Mourinho is hoping that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be available to play for Manchester United before Christmas.
The Armenian struggled to make his mark on the first-team following his summer move from Borussia Dortmund, but has been in fine form since his return.
He has contributed two goals and two assists in the four games since he’s been back with the squad and has picked up three Man of the Match awards.
Speaking in his press conference, Mourinho claimed it was a pity to lose him at this stage.
“Hopefully he can play at Christmas. We believe it’s possible,” he said.
“It’s a pity because he’s going to miss matches in his best period, but at least we won’t lose him for so long”
Mkhitaryan was in fine form and his absence will be a massive blow as he was arguably one of our best performers since his return.
He has the right attitude to work hard and succeed at Old Trafford and there’s no doubt that he’ll slot right back into the team as soon as he’s completely fit.
It’s a shame to lose him as soon as he was finding his feet, but if Mourinho reckons he’ll be back for Christmas, it doesn’t seem like the injury was anything serious.
