Jose Mourinho blocks Wolves bid after Cameron Borthwick-Jackson treatment

Jose Mourinho has rejected a bid from Wolves to sign goalkeeper Sam Johnstone after the Championship club’s treatment of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, according to the Telegraph.

Wolves allegedly made a move to take Johnstone on an emergency loan last Friday following injuries to Andy Lonergan and Carl Ikeme, but the Portuguese boss has blocked a deal.

Telegraph claim Man United are unhappy with Wolves over the lack of playing team for Borthwick-Jackson and it seems certain that he’ll return to Old Trafford in January.

He has only gone on to make seven appearances since going on loan in August and after failing to play under new manager Paul Lambert his deal will be cut short.

Johnstone is set to join Aston Villa for the remainder of the season in January as talks are said to have reached an advanced stage.

Steve Bruce has moved for Johnstone as he seeks more goalkeeping cover and it’s only right that Mourinho denied Wolves after their poor treatment of Borthwick-Jackson.

He’s a serious talent and following our defensive injuries, would have been able to pick up more game time if he stayed at Old Trafford.
