Mino Raiola: Zlatan Ibrahimovic has killed all of his doubters at Manchester United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent, Mino Raiola, believes the Swede has killed everybody who had doubts about him in recent weeks.

The Swede, who arrived on a free back in July, netted six goals in his first five games before enduring an eight game drought under Jose Mourinho – a barren spell that ended with an emphatic brace against Swansea City in early November.

Since then, Ibrahimovic has scored ten goals in nine appearances, with an overall total of 16 to his name before Christmas (the last Man United player to do that was Ruud van Nistelrooy).

Raiola, speaking earlier this week, was full of praise for his free-scoring client.

“He’s a revelation for England,” he said. “For the rest of the world, it is not a revelation.

“It was one of our goals to show what he could do. It was always one of our goals to show what he could do in the Premier League. He killed everybody who had doubts.”

Should we be surprised by Zlatan’s sensational start to life at United? A brief trawl through his past goalscoring record suggests that the entire world should have seen this coming.

The last time he failed to score less than 20 goals in one season dates back to 2006; he took just four seasons to break Paris Saint Germain’s all-time goalscoring record, averaging 39 goals a season. He has 31 trophies to his name – more than Manchester City.

The best thing? He’s far from finished. In fact, he’s just getting started.
