Ashley Young wanted by six Premier League clubs in January – report

Ashley Young has received interest from six Premier League clubs ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports.

The 31-year-old, who signed for Manchester United back in 2011, has only managed four starts under Jose Mourinho so far this season.

His last Premier League appearance dates back to Man United’s 3-1 win over Swansea City in early November.

And according to Kamal Sultan, Burnley, Everton, Hull, Swansea, Watford and West Bromwich Albion have all expressed an interest in the winger.

Mourinho, throughout his time in charge at Old Trafford, has frequently praised Young for his attitude in training, calling on other United players to replicate the Englishman’s approach.

And despite featuring on a sporadic basis, Young has proven to be an important influence under the 53-year-old. He attracted praise from the boss following his display on the left hand side at Anfield and produced commanding performances against both Swansea and Zorya Luhansk: energetic, reliable on the ball, an asset going forward, sturdy in defence, and clearly dedicated to the cause. He is, in many ways, an ideal squad player, always there to provide equanimity and direction when called upon.

United fans may not see him feature regularly this season, but his presence in this United side is invaluable.
