Former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra has expressed his delight after supporters in the singing section displayed a banner hailing the Frenchman prior to their side’s 3-1 win over Sunderland on Saturday.
Goals from Daley Blind, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan handed Jose Mourinho’s men their fifth successive win in all competitions.
Those in the J-Stand, prior to the game, held up a banner hailing the left-back that read: “3 is the magic number – forever red.”
Evra took to Instagram to thank supporters for the gesture.
If you don’t already follow Evra on Instagram, do it right now. Right away. If you don’t have Instagram I suggest you download it purely for the consumption of Evra Instagram posts.
He will make you love Mondays; he will make you laugh as he dances around in panda costumes; he will make you smile; but most importantly, he will make you love this game. “I love this game!” is a staple of every Instagram post, but it’s also a staple of his overall outlook on the world. Evra exudes a rare sense of passion for not just football but life itself, and everybody – not just those that follow United – can take something from that in itself.
