Picture: Sir Alex reacts to brilliant Fergie time win over Middlesbrough

Sir Alex Ferguson looked delighted with Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough at Old Trafford on Monday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho’s men fell behind early after Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s disallowed goal, but made the right substitutions in Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic played a perfect pass for Anthony Martial to pick up a much-deserved goal of the night while Paul Pogba helped close out the game and claim all three points.

Here’s a picture of Sir Alex in good spirits after the game on his 75th birthday.

After falling behind, Mourinho’s first instinct was to bring on Rashford and after not getting anywhere, he then introduced Mata, throwing the kitchen sink at Aitor Karanka.

There was only one team that deserved to leave Old Trafford with the win and it was brilliant that Mourinho guided his side to the victory in the closing minutes of the game, as we’ve a countless amount of times under Sir Alex.

United are building momentum moving forward winning six consecutive games in all competitions, and winning five Premier League matches in the same month for the first time since December 2012.

Hopes are they can continue the impressive form as they’ve done a good job of closing the gap on the top four so far.
