Gary Neville explains why Manchester United are on the right track under Jose Mourinho

Gary Neville believes Manchester United are on the right path under Jose Mourinho this season.

Man United currently sit sixth in the Premier League, 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea, but only four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.

Although Man United ended their nine game win streak in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Sunday, they hold the longest unbeaten run for teams in Europe’s top six leagues with 16 games.

Speaking about the situation at Old Trafford, Neville insists they’re doing well but it’s far too premature to make any predictions over the title.

“United, at this moment in time are quite a few points away from that [the top],” he said. “They’ve got to make the major step to get into the top four and break into that first, before they can start to think about the title.

“But they’re on the right track. It looks more like a United team, even though they haven’t played well today. The start of the season was poor but now they’re on a run, they’re difficult to beat and they don’t roll over.”

Man United have massively improved on their disappointing form at the start of the season, and have looked more like a team in each performance since.

They’ve done a brilliant job of closing the gap on the top four and hopes are they can maintain their impressive form by getting back to winning ways against Stoke City on Saturday.
