Memphis Depay has issued a farewell message to Manchester United supporters after completing his move to Lyon this week.
The Dutchman, who failed to make a Premier League start under Jose Mourinho, joined the French side for a fee of £16m that could rise to £22m with potential add-ons.
His arrival back in the summer of 2015 was greeted with initial enthusiasm, but the youngster never managed to truly impose himself at Old Trafford.
Memphis took to social media and sent a message of gratitude to Man United fans for their support over the past year and a half.

Perhaps the most excruciating aspect of this whole episode is that, despite what was a pretty awful stint at United, Memphis is still a sensational talent, blessed with an ability to change games with a moment of raw brilliance on the ball.
Naturally gifted, yes, but also susceptible to radical dips in morale. Memphis was in a spiral of discontent and uncertainty at Old Trafford this season – something that swelled with every game – and every pointless substitute appearance – that passed.
A fresh start, playing in a totally different environment, is exactly what the confidence-sapped winger needs. United ensured that a buy-back clause for Memphis was included in the deal, just like Real Madrid did with Alvaro Morata, and supporters will hope that, one day, the 22-year-old returns with his self-belief and undoubted brilliance in tact.
