Ashley Young has asked Jose Mourinho if he can leave Manchester United on loan, according to reports.

The 31-year-old is allegedly desperate to play more games with his last Premier League start coming against Swansea in November.

Man united will need to decide whether to let him go as Mourinho has been playing the Englishman in their Europa League and FA Cup campaigns.

While the club do not intend on making any changes to their squad this campaign, they are said to be considering Young’s request for more playing time.

There have been plenty of clubs interested in his services, with the likes of West Ham, West Brom, Watford, Crystal Palace, Swansea keen on his signature, but Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng remain interested.

Mourinho has previously stated that Sam Johnstone would be the only player allowed to leave on loan in January, but if Young is unhappy with his situation at the club, I’m sure Mourinho will not force him to stay.

There isn’t a big possibility of Young starting a Premier League game any time soon as there are others on the side with more to offer and the club now have to make a decision over whether to keep him at Old Trafford or allow him to leave on loan.
