Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea on Real Madrid’s wish list – report

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is at the top of Real Madrid’s wishlist of potential goalkeeping targets this summer, according to reports.

The Spaniard came incredibly close to a move to Bernabeu on deadline day in 2015, with the fax machine ultimately hampering the deal.

He has since signed a new deal at Old Trafford, but has been heavily linked with a move back to Spain with Telegraph’s Matt Law claiming he could be part of a summer deal with Hugo Lloris and Thibaut Courtois also on their wishlist.

At the time, De Gea had one year left on his contract and could have waited for one more year, allowing him to develop more, before signing one of the world’s finest keepers on a free transfer, but there impatience resulted in a sequence of hilarious documentation issues.

It seems Madrid have accepted their prime target will not be joining as he’s accustomed to the thought of Jose Mourinho creating a special team in the Premier League.

Zinedine Zidane would have been interested in signing De Gea, after years of interest as it would have been a statement of intent but it seems like we’ll have more of the Spaniard’s world-class saves at United.
