Juan Mata is happy Manchester United were able to turn their dominance against Watford into three points after a convincing 2-0 win.

The Spaniard got Man United off the mark with his goal just before half-time and Anthony Martial‘s second gave United a comfortable lead which they never looked like letting go of.

Having had frustrating draws at home against Arsenal, Burnley and Stoke City after dominating the game, Mata shares the feeling of fans’ with his comments that it is simply satisfying to get that win.

“When you play good football and get the three points it is a step forward but we need to keep going,” Mata said.

“It was a convincing performance and we are very happy today.

“It started to feel like it was one of those games again. Their keeper saved every chance but then the goal came and after that it was more comfortable for us. We are going in the right direction.

“It is very, very difficult. First of all is to get into the top four. We have been winning games but not going higher in the table.

“We want to go higher and higher. We never know where we will finish.”

United are now 16 games unbeaten in the Premier League and are continuing to push for a top four finish, so a convincing win today is another step in the right direction for a side which is growing in strength under Jose Mourinho’s guidance.

Next up for United are four cup games before our next Premier League game so beating Watford was crucial and we did it in emphatic fashion as far as dominating performances go. Hopefully Spurs and Liverpool draw this evening as well so we gain two points on two rivals above us in the league, that would make it an almost perfect weekend.
