Daley Blind insists Manchester United players are fighting for their place in the team under Jose Mourinho this season.
The Dutchman claims the team need to stay focused if they have any chance of maintaining the competitive run on all four fronts, while also looking for a top four finish in the Premier League this campaign.
Man United’s next Premier League fixture isn’t until 4 March when Bournemouth visit Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho’s men face a busy run of games in the FA Cup, Europa League and EFL Cup.
Speaking about the squad, Blind claims they all still have plenty to fight for.
“It will be close and we’ll need to focus and win our games but I’m sure we’ll be in the top four by the end of season,” he said.
“You want to play games as players. We’ve still got a lot to fight for, including a final, so we’re all looking forward to it.
“We deserved to win and created many chances. We could have finished more of the chances; everyone wanted the ball. The second half was more difficult as they changed their system a bit but, overall, it was a good win.”
United face Saint-Etienne in the Europa League Round of 32 at Old Trafford on Thursday and the squad will be looking to take a lead in the away leg.
The squad have managed an impressive unbeaten run and hopes are they can maintain their impressive form as they’ve done a brilliant job of closing the gap on the top four already.
