Manchester United legend Paul Scholes insists Jose Mourinho should sign Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, claiming he’d fit perfectly alongside Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba.
Kroos has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world and has become a dominant force during his time at the Bernabeu.
David Moyes was interested in signing Kroos at Old Trafford and Louis van Gaal pulled out of a deal for the 27-year-old, but it’ll be difficult for Jose Mourinho to tempt him with a move away from Zinedine Zidane’s side.
Speaking about the German, Scholes admits he started to base his game after watching him at Bayern Munich.
“Kroos is the best midfield passer in the world,” he said.
“Towards the end of my career, I tried to emulate him.
“Kroos would be a perfect fit alongside [Ander] Herrera and [Paul] Pogba at Manchester United.”
Mourinho was able to attract the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly to Man United during his first transfer window at the club even though he didn’t have Champions League football to offer.
While Kroos may be settled in Spain, if there’s one man that could get him to England, it’s Jose.
