Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Daley Blind have been included in Who Scored’s Europa League ‘Team of the Week’ following Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Saint Etienne on Thursday night.
The Swede gave Man United the lead with a deflected free kick after 15 minutes and sealed his first ever hat-trick for the club – and the 17th of his career – with two more goals during the latter stages.
Blind, on the other hand, was a less explosive figure, but resolutely occupied the left back spot and ensured that the ball kept moving forward whenever it came his way.
The pair, as a result, were included in Who Scored’s ‘Team of the Week’, with Zlatan claiming a perfect 10.0 score alongside Edin Dzeko, who also claimed a hat-trick.

There were several United players that very realistically could have crept into this team; Anthony Martial, for one, provided a sense of electric impulse all night, whilst the midfield duo of Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba growingly took hold of the encounter as the minutes went by.
But Zlatan and Blind provide a satisfying contrast: the Swede’s performance would secure all the headlines, of course; he was, for a good 30 minutes, ASSE’s most feared bully, coming at them over and over again. Blind, on the other hand, was nothing more than magnificently tidy – not game-changing, but fundamental to the overall tempo of the home side.
