Ander Herrera: Manchester United players believe in Jose Mourinho

Ander Herrera claims Manchester United players have faith in Jose Mourinho and his EFL Cup final preparations.

The Spaniard has been in remarkable form this season kickstarting his career under the Portuguese boss, along with the likes of Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones and other first-team players.

He’s been excellent at getting the best out of his players and hasn’t been afraid of keeping them out of the action until they provide the performances he’s looking for, as Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have learned.

Speaking about Mourinho, Herrera insists the players believe in what he’s doing at Old Trafford.

“I think our manager knows how to prepare a final because he has managed some,” said Ander Herrera. “We believe in what he is doing.

“In the FA Cup, he rested some important players against Blackburn and they, Pogba and Ibrahimovic, were crucial at the end of the game. It will not be key that Southampton have 15 days off because in football sometimes it is good to keep playing and winning and getting that rhythm.”

The side have been in brilliant form, but Mourinho has been furious with the fixture congestion at Man United, as United will have played three games since Southampton’s last match.

He’s been excellent at rotating the players and there’s no doubt he’ll have a plan in mind, because behind the players, are the fans who all believe in what he’s building.
