Jamie Carragher insists he can’t understand why Morgan Schneiderlin was not successful during his time at Manchester United.
The Frenchman endured a disappointing 18 months at Old Trafford as he failed to break into the first-team, falling even further down the pecking order once Jose Mourinho took over in the summer.
Everton signed Schneiderlin during the January transfer window, with the 27-year-old being their most expensive addition during the month.
Speaking about the situation, Carragher was confused by how Schneiderlin failed to make an impact at Man United.
“I still can’t quite work out how it didn’t work out for him at Manchester United, because I think he’s a really top player.
“They made good signings, and the confidence going forward with the manager bodes well for the future.”
Ronald Koeman’s faith in Schneiderlin has already been rewarded as the Frenchman has been an excellent addition as Everton seem a much stronger side with Schneiderlin in their midfield.
He is yet to taste defeat since moving to Everton and has proven that he’ll be a wonderful addition for the Toffees.
It’s a shame it didn’t work out at Old Trafford, but I’m glad that he’s been getting on well as he deserves to be playing first-team football each week.
