Zlatan Ibrahimovic could miss Manchester United’s FA Cup clash with Chelsea if he’s charged by the FA after the incident with Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings.

Mings stamped on Ibrahimovic’s head while he was laying on the floor during the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday, however, moments later, Zlatan elbowed the Bournemouth defender as they competed for a header in the penalty area.

While both were lucky enough to stay on the pitch, a look back at the replays show quite violent conduct, even though they claim their roles in the incidents were accidental.

Speaking about the situation, former Premier League referee Graham Poll claims they’ll be lucky to escape retrospective action.

“Ibrahimovic and Mings who are facing three-match bans once replays are reviewed,” He said.

“The unsavoury incident will need to be resolved by the FA disciplinary review panel.

“There is no doubt in my mind that both cowardly acts were totally deliberate and it would be amazing if my former colleagues on the review panel, Alan Wiley and Steve Dunn, don’t see the same when reviewing the incidents.”

If he receives a three-match ban, Zlatan could miss Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday, Middlesbrough away and West Brom at home in the Premier League.

He’s been in top form this season, scoring 26 goals across all competitions and having him on the sidelines would be a massive blow.
