Manchester United’s 20-man travelling squad for the FC Rostov match has been announced and although Jose Mourinho has left out Luke Shaw and Wayne Rooney, it’s a very strong looking squad.
The biggest bonus is certainly the return of Henrikh Mkhitaryan who now looks to be available again having missed the EFL Cup final and the Premier League clash with Bournemouth. But will he come straight back into the starting team?
On paper, here’s what I think would be United’s strongest XI against FC Rostov:
What team Jose Mourinho puts out very much depends what competition he sees as more important – the FA Cup or Europa League. For me, it’s got to be the Europa League for United this year but the fact we’re playing Mourinho’s former club Chelsea means it carries a bit more importance for him personally. The team may well reflect that.
It’s a real tricky one to balance with Chelsea coming up just four days after our trip to Russia. What sort of team do you expect Mourinho to start? Let us know in the comments and get involved in the conversation.
