Manchester United fans delighted with Antonio Valencia’s performance against Chelsea

Manchester United fans were full of praise following Antonio Valencia‘s emphatic display during their side’s 1-0 loss to Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter final.

The Ecuadorian, deployed as a wing back, was a rampaging force all evening and kept tabs on the likes of Willian and Victor Moses.

Man United fans, despite seeing their side exit the FA Cup, were quick to laud the 31-year-old for what was another powerful performance.

Every game can be described as a battle. But this, playing with ten men against the best team in the country not long after a trip to Russia, was a real battle. And Valencia, more than anyone, stood up to the challenge.

He was charged by Jose Mourinho with the responsibility of offering attacking impetus going forward, alongside tracking the movement of both Willian and Moses, and he never looked out of his comfort zone once. Supporters don’t give Valencia – a right winger by trade – has adapted his game over the last few years, but this was routine business for a man who seems impossible to tire out, even against an in-form side seemingly strolling to a double this season.
