Javier Hernandez hints he’d like to return to Manchester United

Javier Hernandez has hinted he’d like to move back to Manchester United.

The Mexican striker, who is still only 28, was in the press this week following comments from Jose Mourinho who said he would never have sold Hernandez had he replaced Sir Alex Ferguson as Man United boss.

That comment got tongues wagging and as this hint on Twitter shows when Chicharito liked a tweet about a potential return, it seems Little Pea wouldn’t mind a return to his former home either.

He was a class little player wasn’t he? Plucked from obscurity before the 2010 World Cup, nobody knew anything about him but after an explosive competition with Mexico where he stood out, United fans knew we had signed something special.

Fast forward to the start of his first season and his first United goal in the Community Shield against Chelsea when he kicked the ball into his own face to score, it became the start of something beautiful.

Hernandez was named the Sir Matt Busby 2010/11 Player of the Year in his first season at the club and remains one of only a select few to do that including Ruud van Nistelrooy. He built a wonderful relationship with fans and although the timing was right for him to leave when he did, maybe it could have been a whole lot different had Mourinho been in charge.

But in all likeliness, the opportunity to play for United probably won’t come again for Chicharito even if he wants it to, no matter how many subtle hints he drops. Sorry Chicharito.
