Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford working hard in training with England

Marcus Rashford has been pictured working hard in training with the national side less than a day after England’s 1-0 defeat to Germany in Dortmund.

The youngster, who followed up a goal on his England debut with a series of impressive displays from the bench at Euro 2016, was left out of Sam Allardyce’s first squad back in September but found himself thrown back into the fray by Gareth Southgate just a month later.

He started the game against Germany on the bench and came on with 20 minutes left as England failed to mount a response to Lukas Podolski’s second half strike.

Rashford was seen putting in the hard yards with some shooting practice alongside Jermain Defoe on Thursday afternoon.

The youngster can embark on the next 12 months under Southgate with plenty of optimism. He was, in many ways, one of the only England players that left France over the summer with his pride still in tact.

And with the 46-year-old – who has made it clear that, under his tutelage, England’s next generation would be at the forefront of his plans over the next few months – in charge, plenty of opportunities to dazzle the watching world on an international level will continue to present themselves.
