Timothy Fosu-Mensah has outlined his dream to play for Manchester United for as long as he can and would love nothing more than to win the UEFA Champions League wearing the red of Man United.
The Dutchman broke through into the first-team last season after being given his senior debut by Louis van Gaal and has gone on to make seven appearances in all competitions under Jose Mourinho so far this season.
While Fosu-Mensah, 19, hasn’t played as much as he may have liked he is still focused on what is coming next for him and said his ambition remains at United.
When asked by ManUtd.com about what his dream was, Fosu-Mensah said: “To play as long as I can for this beautiful club and win as many trophies as I can for United. To win the Champions League and then the World Cup. These are my boyhood dreams.”
Fosu-Mensah is one hell of a talented player. Ever since watching him when he joined from Ajax as a 16-year-old, Fosu-Mensah stood out in every team he played at all youth levels. He’s a natural powerhouse and was deservedly accelerated through into the first-team.
Since then, he’s gone into the background somewhat but I’ve still got really high hopes for him at United. The improvement of Antonio Valencia has been a bit of a blocker for him but Jose Mourinho will blood him into the team slowly, at least I hope he will and I’m not worried about his prospects just yet.
There are plenty of prospects in the United squad and Marcus Rashford‘s growth into a regular first-team player is something we’d all love to see happen with Fosu-Mensah. Here’s hoping that will happen in the next 12 months. As for winning the Champions League, well that might take it a bit longer.
