Jose Mourinho has told Paul Pogba to reduce his commercial work and concentrate on his Manchester United career, according to reports.
The Portuguese is said to be unhappy with Pogba’s recent emoji release and doesn’t want his off-the-field activities to take away from his abilities on the pitch.
Mourinho has allegedly told Pogba to cut down his commercial activities, stating he’s prepared to drop the Frenchman if he believed they impacted his performances.
He became the world’s most expensive player last summer following his move from Juventus at £89.3million but has come under scrutiny after his social media campaigns and new hairstyles.
He’s currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but has finally received the chance to take some time out since his arrival, missing the international break as he looked to rest his problem.
There’s no doubt he’s a massive talent but what we need to see is him putting his head down and repaying his loyalty to United as he continues to find his feet underneath the Portuguese boss.
Pogba has often been criticised unfairly even when he has performed well at times and Mourinho claims it’s just people that are jealous of what he’s achieved, and it’s great to hear him protect Pogba as it’s hard to believe, but he’s still only young at the age of 24.
