Eric Bailly has sent Manchester United supporters a message of encouragement following his side’s 1-1 draw with Everton on Tuesday night.
The hosts vigorously pressed for an equaliser, striking the woodwork twice and seeing a goal wrongly ruled out for offside, before eventually grabbing an injury time equaliser through Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Bailly, who enjoyed a strong performance against the Toffees, was quick to insist that Man United would continue to give everything over the next few weeks.
Remaining positive about United’s Premier League campaign is becoming increasingly difficult. This was, after all, the ninth draw in 12 home meetings, and as games – and, based on past experience, more injuries – continue to pile up, one can hardly imagine things getting any easier for Mourinho’s men.
Perhaps the most concerning thing about the draw with Ronald Koeman’s side was that United, above anything, looked lethargic: the visitors were quicker to the ball, faster on the break and more cohesive going forward. United desperately need an injection of sharpness from somewhere, but the next few weeks promise to only plunge them further into the mire.
