Jose Mourinho explains why next season will be exciting for Manchester United

Jose Mourinho has opened up about his future at Manchester United, claiming next season will be exciting following the team’s unbeaten run this campaign.

His side have managed to extend their unbeaten run to 20 games following the 1-1 draw against Everton earlier in the week, but have now drawn nine times at home in the league and 12 overall.

The team have come under heavy criticism as they’ve failed to remain clinical in front of goal, making their aims of a Champions League qualification much harder through a Premier League top four finish.

Speaking about the situation, Mourinho claims there are solid foundations to build on.

“For me it’s an honour and a pleasure and a continuation of my career. I’ve worked at some of the biggest clubs in the world in different countries, which makes me even richer from a football point of view. I’m enjoying,” he said.

“Looking to the next season it’s a good feeling to know that we don’t lose many matches and had a fantastic run of 20 unbeaten matches. I prefer to look at ten matches, ten draws. You have something that is not easy to have, You are solid mentally, hard to beat and show fight and resilience. But the points are the reality.”

Mourinho has previously stated that next season will be the time where he’s truly able to get the best out of his players and push for the aim of a Premier League title.

However, we need to get back into the Champions League this season through the Premier League or Europa League, and had United not been so wasteful in front of goal, they’d be in a comfortable spot at this stage of the season.
