David de Gea has been back in training ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Anderlecht in the Europa League quarter-final on Thursday night.
The Spaniard was ruled out of Man United’s trip to Sunderland over the weekend after Jose Mourinho confirmed he had picked up a minor injury which he could feel whilst performing diving exercises.
Mourinho believed De Gea would be fine to play in the Europa League match in midweek and hopes are he isn’t being rushed back into action as we’ll need him to be at the top of his game when Man United take on Chelsea in the Premier League on 16 April.
Here’s a look at the 26-year-old hard at work at Carrington on Wednesday afternoon.
He’s been vital at Old Trafford this season and has been ever-present in between the sticks, however, Sergio Romero has also been brilliant in his absence under Jose Mourinho.
The Argentine has only improved since his move to United and has proven that he has what it takes to perform on a consistent basis.
Although he’s still not on De Gea’s level it provides Mourinho with options and hopes are the Spaniard is back to his best after a short rest.
