Manchester United watched on as the brilliant Kylian Mbappe shone in AS Monaco’s 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
The 18-year-old sensation, who is one of many strikers to be linked with a move to Man United in the summer, scored Monaco’s opener with a reactionary effort in the six yard box but wasn’t finished with just one goal.
Just before 80 minutes, Mbappe won the ball and drove through to goal, found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and curled a peach of an effort into the corner. It was a finish Ruud van Nistelrooy in his pomp would have been proud of and we’re talking about an 18-year-old breakthrough striker. Suffice to say, United fans were buzzing at how good Mbappe looked:
Reckon Lord Bappa has set foot on Earth again with the name Mbappe. Divine!

Mbappe has now scored more goals (4) in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages than any other player this year. His meteoric rise continues to find new heights and it is impossible to ignore the hype around him.
United’s biggest problem this season has undoubtedly been in front of goal with our finishing and Jose Mourinho will be on the hunt for a new striker. Mbappe is young and plenty will consider a move for him unlikely because of that and Mourinho’s tendency to buy experienced players but after that performance against Dortmund, I imagine Mourinho’s interest might be piqued.
