Manchester United show interest in AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma – report

Manchester United have displayed an interest in AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports.

The Italian, who made his Milan debut at the age of 16 and his international debut just a year later, has impressed many with his confident, acrobatic style between the sticks over the last two seasons.

It has been previously reported that Jose Mourinho, mindful of Real Madrid’s interest in David de Gea, had identified the 18-year-old as a potential replacement.

And according to the Mail Online‘s Pete South, Man United are willing to offer the youngster a deal worth more than the proposed €3.2million-per-year deal offered by Milan this summer.

There aren’t many keepers I would happily trade for De Gea, but Donnarumma is one of them. He has defied the laws of logic by cementing himself as a first choice keeper for one of Europe’s biggest clubs in recent times. And yes, Milan are not the giants they used to be, but any follower of Italian football will tell you that they have a tantalising prospect on their hands.

Donnarumma is the best teenage keeper in the world right now and will, of course, only improve as time goes by. Cashing in early would be a smart move from Mourinho.
