Daley Blind explains why he loves playing alongside Eric Bailly at Manchester United

Daley Blind insists he enjoys playing alongside Eric Bailly at Manchester United as they understand each other well on the pitch.

The pair began the season as Jose Mourinho’s first-choice centre-back partnership and have been playing alongside each other in recent times following Marcos Rojo‘s serious knee injury against Anderlecht.

However, it seems it the pair will have to wait longer to play alongside each other as Bailly pulled up with an injury in the second-half of the 0-0 draw with Swansea City at Old Trafford.

Speaking about the pair, Blind claims the language barrier has not been a problem.

“Yeah, I think it works out really well, in spite of the language [barrier]!” he said.
“We do a great job, and we understand each other.

“Not only us, but when I play with any of the other central defenders, I think the whole team knows what we have to do, and you can see that in the low number of goals we have against us this year. I’m happy with my performances and want to keep going.

“I’m always ready, if the manager asks me to do something. I’m always ready to play in midfield and I feel very good and comfortable in the centre-back position too. I will do whatever the manager asks and needs of me and do my best.”

Despite our injury crisis this season and how shaky United have looked at the back, we still haven’t conceived many goals this campaign under Mourinho.

However, Mourinho faces a problem at the back with Luke Shaw, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo all ruled out of action with some crucial fixtures coming up.
