Kylian Mbappe’s uncle Pierre has addressed speculation linking his nephew with a move to Old Trafford, noting that Manchester United – along with five other clubs – all serve as potential future destinations for the 18-year-old.
It was recently reported that Jose Mourinho had begun talks with Monaco over a fee for the Frenchman ahead of the summer transfer window.
The youngster, who has 24 goals to his name this season, revealed earlier this week that he did indeed plan on swapping Monaco for a bigger club in the future.
And his uncle has confirmed that there are six clubs, including Man United, that Mbappe could potentially join in the future.
“Are Juventus an option for the future? Yes, Juve are, as well as the two teams in Manchester, PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona… in the future, they could all be options,” he said.
“You never know, but my nephew is already at a great team and he’s very happy at Monaco.
“When the time comes [to discuss a possible move away], we will talk with our family. We are football people, I do not think Kylian will need an agent for discussions over his future.’
“He’s been following Juventus for a long time now, well before the draw came in. He always watches Juventus, Barcelona, Real Madrid…”
Going after Mbappe will be no simple task. Every European club capable of activating the Frenchman’s astronomical release clause will be keeping a close eye on his situation over the summer.
Ed Woodward and Co will, no doubt, face stiff competition in the pursuit of his signature. The club that offers the best deal will end up with the talented prodigy, so the question, I guess, is this: will Mourinho be prepared to break the bank – and perhaps even smash the world transfer record – to bring the teenager to Manchester?
