Manchester United have not made £72m bid for Kylian Mbappe – report

Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe has not been the subject of a £72m bid from Manchester United, according to Sky Sports.

Gianluca di Marzio claimed Man United had submitted a €85m bid for Mbappe, but the offer was rejected as they would be willing to listen to prices in the region of €120m-140m.

However, Sky Sports claim this was not the case as no such offer has been received for the Monaco forward, who has been attracting interest from Europe’s elite.

It’s hard to believe the plot twist following Di Marzio’s reputation in the industry, especially after his reports on the Paul Pogba situation, where he got everything correct, even down to the smaller details.

Mbappe has scored 24 goals for Monaco in all competitions this season and has picked up five goals from seven Champions League appearances.

There’s no doubt that we’ll continue to be linked with Mbappe over the summer and many other names as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking options, but there seems to be something more than simple reports in place here.

Di Marzio doesn’t get these details wrong and when he confirms something it does usually happen.
