Manchester United fans were not impressed with Jesse Lingard‘s performance against Celta Vigo in the Europa League semi-final clash in Spain.
The Englishman has established himself as a first-team player this season under Jose Mourinho, after impressing with his displays and scoring in vital games at Wembley.
However, he’s often been criticised by supporters over the course of the campaign as they can’t see what the Portuguese boss sees in him and they weren’t impressed once again as he missed at least two goal-scoring opportunities against Celta Vigo.
Here’s what supporters on social media had to say about his performance.
It would appear Jesse Lingard only scores in Wembley

What on earth does mourinho see in Jesse Lingard #hoop

Seriously though, Jesse Lingard would struggle to get in the Hull City starting 11

He’s been a great squad player but it doesn’t make sense to start him over the likes of Anthony Martial, even in the second-half where the ball was placed perfectly for him to volley, he failed to even get the shot on target and it’s just wasteful.
United have failed to remain clinical in front of goal this season, costing them vital games and the Englishman has good movement on and off the ball, great link up play and pace, but lacks the end product.
